Wounaan Indian Baskets and Tagua Carvings of the Darien Rainforest of Panama

The Wounaan Indian women who live in the Darien Rainforest of Panama have been weaving baskets for sale for only about two decades but they are ranked the finest decorative baskets in the world. The Wounaan Indian men carve animals on Tagua nuts which are found from palm trees grow in the Darien Rainforest.

Native Future is a non-profit organization that helps the Wounaan Indians in various issues such as obtaining the title of the land in the Rainforest.
